Squall casually committed grand theft auto, but nobody cared because he also tried to assassinate the sorceress

Phil has declared that it is car week, and to honor car week, we’re gonna talk about the Tempest. What is that, you might ask?

Tempest is the car that Squall steals in Deling City during the Edea assassination attempt. It does have an official name! It’s based on old American muscle cars, and for some reason, somebody just brought that bad boy to the parade. Maybe it was like one of those Christmas parade situations where you had people in the parade before Santa (Edea) in cars waving. Who can say?

The consequence of bringing a car to a Sorceress parade is that a squirrely little teenage soldier might straight up steal that bad boy and Akira slide it into a gate. That part was just Squall being extra, and you can’t convince me otherwise. There was no practical reason to actually slam the car into the gate, especially sideways. I do hope there is some line in the owner’s insurance policy that covers them in the event of their car being stolen and used in a political coup.

At the very least, we can say that Squall is a slightly responsible driver (hell of sentence after saying he stole a car and rammed it into something) because he did turn on the headlights before he peeled out with the Tempest. Safety first before you attempt your assassination on the sorceress, kids!
